Equivalent Too is a podcast for minorities in STEM. Its a place to discuss issues faced by those who are under represented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, whether that be for reasons of gender, race, socio-economic background, neurodiversity, physical ability. All are welcome to normalise the barriers encountered by being differences, so that we can indeed make a positive difference through our differences.

This week's guest is overwhelmingly determined and focussed on fulfilling her fullest potential. She was originally inspired by a doctor who had been treating her father and knew that if she was to have the same impact, then she would have to work really hard to get there.
My guest has always had to prove herself because she is African American and therefore a minority within her medical field. But it never dimmed her own light - in fact it motivated her.
What is clear is that her parents loved and supported her no matter what - and it seems as though they gave her a strong foundational belief in her own abilities. Challenges and adversity spurred her on and I must say the fruits of her labour are inspiring.
